Local Color is in Brevard, NC and in the town where I teach. Paul and Pauline Hawkins are a husband/wife team and they are awesome people to meet. Talk to them about Brevard and you will discover their love of the community by their involvement in local issues. The gallery itself is an eclectic mix of handmade items from jewelry, clothing, recycled wall art, to paper. Check out their space via the facebook link. If you are traveling here make sure that you visit.
I was invited to join the next gallery in Matthews, NC, which is just outside of Charlotte. I have conversed with owner, Amy Bell, and she is very ambitious and enthusiastic about the gallery. She found me on etsy and I have been excited to be included in the opening of a brand new space. Check out her space via the facebook link.
The last gallery my work is represented in is Foundry. This space is run by Natalie and Shelly Piper. The focus is on recycled, upcycled useful art pieces. One item that caught my attention when visiting were gift boxes made out of old record album covers. How clever! That would be a perfect way to wrap a gift for a music loving friend. Check out their space via the facebook link.
As a matter of fact, it wouldn't be a bad idea to like all these pages as each gallery has great events and gifts for the upcoming holiday season!
Ciao!
