Yesterday, I stitched these two recycled journals. I used the Coptic stitch which allows the books to open flat. The top journal has a paint style like paste paper but I used enamel paints. The bottom journal used a granite texture. I upcycled paper from different sources from paper which I couldn't use with my higher end journals because the paper was wrinkled to paper from drawing pads which were discontinued. I found unique buttons and mounted them on a small piece of free leather from a seller on etsy. I discovered a new tool which helped me poke holes through the matboard. Have you heard of a Crop-A-Dile? Well, it is heavenly to use. It made the holes quickly. Have you ever used one? What do you think of the spine view of the journals?

Love these journals! The precision of the holes and stitching on the spine are amazing.
