Well, this summer has been different. During the school year, I had noticed a constant pain in my shoulder. Being tough and having a high pain threshold, I easily ignored it. Then with school (I am an elementary art teacher) winding down for the summer, I continued to notice the pain in my right shoulder. Not good as I am right handed. I had talked to my sister-in-law because she is a physical therapist and has easily cured my husband's shoulder problems over the phone. Not with me, she suggested I see a physical therapist.
So an appointment was secured with a friend who owns her business. She examined me and found out that I had an inflammation of the muscle that goes over the top of your shoulder. (I am not good with scientific names.) I was placed on a four week plan of rehabilitation. Not a long time, but I was advised to cut back on my activities which inflame my shoulder. So I am learning that papermaking is a repetitive craft which with bad posture can aggravate my shoulder. :-( So on Monday, when I made 12 sheets of paper without pain, I felt success. :-) Normally, I would make 50 sheets.
So this has been the summer of my discontent, knowing that I have to moderate my papermaking in order to heal my body to become stronger.
Thanks for reading this first post. I promise the future posts will be more upbeat!!
