I am close to photographing and posting my new line of baby shirts! These shirts are bright and vibrantly marbled on front and back. Can you imagine your baby in a shirt like this?

Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15 in the United States. What a scary fact!! If you are a parent--young or old--it makes you stop and think!! I am very blessed to have had a healthy son who has reached adulthood and for that, I am eternally thankful. I teach in public school where I hear of many parents dealing with many different illnesses in addition to cancer and I admire their positive attitudes. They inspire the weakest among us. I have many t-shirts like the one pictured above. For the month of September, I will knock $9 off the price of the shirt and donate 10% to the Childhood Foundation and Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (http://www.alexslemonade.org/ ) Visit www.etsy.com/shop/marblemajik to find the shirts! Use coupon code September9 for $9 off. Thank you for helping to find a cure for Childhood Cancer. Here is a screen shot of one of my bowties. This one is cool because it has been marbled twice.
What is marbled or marbling, you ask? Well it is my next favorite art form. It was started in the 17th Century by floating paint on a thickened water surface. Crafters would travel from town to town plying their art form. Calligraphers would hand write the town laws on papers which had been marbled. It was the way to legalize documents because the surface would become scuffed or scarred if anyone tried to erase and change the words. So beauty and legality were merged. Today, marbling uses environmentally friendly materials and decorates garments. The one in the picture has two layers of paint. A friend says it looks like a Blue Morpho from Costa Rica. This and many other self tie bow ties are for sale in marblemajik.etsy.com. Check it out! |
